St. Petersburg Preservation (SPP) will host the 2017 Preservation Awards Celebration at the St. Petersburg Woman's Club, 40 Snell Isle Blvd. NE, from 6-8:30 p.m. Feb.8.
The Awards recognize noteworthy efforts in historic preservation in areas ranging from adaptive use to residential rehabilitation, a release on St, Petersburg Chamber of Commerce website said.
The evening, which will include food, beverages and music from Dean Johanesen, will honor the people, associations and businesses that work to preserve, restore and complement the city’s historic buildings and places.
In addition to the awards, there will also be an exhibit and sale of watercolor paintings of area landmarks by artist Robert Holmes, the release said. Holmes donated his work to SPP as a fundraiser for the organization. Reservations can be made online at www.stpetepreservation.org/event-2415284
SPP works to foster an appreciation of St. Petersburg’s historic environment by educating the public about local historic resources, landmarking deserving sites and recognizing the people and businesses that help achieve this goal, the release said.
