Hodges University is teaming up with the Southwest Florida Mental Health Association to offer a half-day workshop, "Counseling Children and Adolescents in a Diverse Society," for mental health professionals and students.
The workshop, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 25 at Hodges’ Fort Myers campus at 4501 Colonial Boulevard, will cober topics that include play therapy, adolescent relationships, and the impacts labels can have on a child's identity, a release on the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce website said.
Those studying or working in the fields of mental health may find this workshop intriguing and helpful in their endeavors to help patients, the release said. Those studying or working in human services, psychology or social work are encouraged to attend and share their knowledge of best practices, techniques and personal experiences, the release said.
Admission to the workshop is $30; students are eligible for half-price admission, the release said.
