Fort Myers 93X Taco Fest benefits Valerie House

Fort Myers recently hosted its inaugural 93X Taco Fest, a daylong, family-friendly event dedicated to celebrating tacos with great food, music and activities.

The fest, held March 12 in Centennial Park, featured food from some of the best Mexican restaurants in the Ft. Myers area, including $2 tacos and other south-of-the-border specialties, margaritas and beer, a release posted on the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce website said. The fest also featured a bounce house for children and a main stage with performances from Sowflow, The Clanton Group and local favorite Soapy Tuna.

The event was hosted by Business Supporting Communities and sponsored by Sun Broadcasting’s 93X FM Radio as well as partner broacaster WINK-TV.

Some proceeds from the fest will benefit Valerie’s House, a local nonprofit that helps children and their families who are grieving the loss of a loved one, the release said.
