Registration is underway for the St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation's Aquatics division lifeguarding and summer camps, a release on the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce website said.
The Summer Aquatics Camp will begin June 5 and is open to children ages 8 to 12. Participants will explore waterways and learn about water safety. The camp is offered in three one-week sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
The American Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding Camp, conducted by certified American Red Cross lifeguard instructors, provides participants ages 11 to 14 with the skills and knowledge needed to become a lifeguard. There will be two one-week sessions, June 19-23 and July 24-28, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Both camps will be held at North Shore Aquatic Complex, 901 North Shore Dr. NE.
The Summer Aquatics Camp costs $200 per week and the Lifeguarding Camp costs $100 per week.
A swim test is required prior to registration for both camps.
