Fort Myers' April Art Walk to feature artist, author and mythologist

Artist, author and mythologist Kyra Belan will bring her expressive art exhibition, titled "Symbolic Magic," to the April Art Walk in downtown Fort Meyers, the Fort Meyers Chamber of Commerce said on its website.

Throughout April, a series of works including the American Beauty series, which are a number of paintings of hibiscus flowers; the Kali series of mixed animals and birds; the Amazing Ladies series, painted portraits of notable women; and plenty of paintings of mythological figures will be displayed, the release said.

The opening night is 6 to 10 p.m. April 7.  There will be a performance at the end of the event, which is located at The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, 2301 First St. in the historic downtown Fort Myers River District. The event is free to attend for the public. 

Belan is also an art historian who graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's of fine arts and from Florida State University with a master's in fine arts focusing on visual arts. 

She has been in more than 60 solo art exhibitions and participated in nearly 100 group art exhibitions, according to the press release.
