The Miami River Commission recently held its 21st annual Riverday Festival at Lummus Park.

The event was an attempt to celebrate the culture and history of Miami's "mixed-use" river, the Miami Chamber of Commerce said.

The event ran from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the historic Lummus Park District in downtown Miami. It is the only event in the Miami-Dade County area to feature free riverboat rides.

There were live music performances from Nil Lara and Luis Bofill and Band as well as water races with kayaks and paddleboards. There were also tours of Fort Dallas and Wagner Homestead.

A new public riverwalk and dock were also featured, according to the Miami Chamber.
