Fort Myers-based United Mechanical Inc. (UMI) has grown into a company with five departments and over 200 staffers and now serves commercial and residential consumers over a wide swath of Florida.
This summer, UMI celebrates 30 years in the HVAC business, covering customers from Bradenton to Key West, according to a press release. The firm was founded by Harvey Clark and became incorporated in June 1987, first based in a small office over an auto-repair business. Since then it has twice outgrown its quarters, expanding to new and larger space.
“I would personally like to thank all of our wonderful clients for allowing us the opportunity to be of service the last 30 years,” Michael Clark, UMI president since 1999, said in the release. “We look forward to being your expert of choice for years to come for all of your AC and plumbing needs!”
The company is involved with local organizations, participating in fundraising and other activities for area nonprofits, cooperatives and schools, as well as financial institutions and health care organizations.
“We are blessed to live in such a great community with loyal and supportive clients," Clark said. “We have enjoyed building lifelong relationships with our clients as well as giving back to the community that has given so much.”
