The St. Petersburg Shakespeare Festival will host a production of "Julius Caesar" next month at its new location in downtown St. Petersburg.
The production of "Julius Caesar" will be held at Williams Park from Nov. 1 through Nov. 5, according to an announcement. The event will take place beginning at 8 p.m.
The play is directed by Brianna Larson with cast members Matthew Frankel as Julius Caesar, Ryan Bernier as Antony, Dylan Jones as Brutus, Erin Foster as Calpurnia, Dean Wick as Cassius and Summer Kiesel as Portia.
As part of its production series, the festival will present "Romeo and Juliet" directed by Stephen Ray in April.
The festival was founded in 2014 by Veronica Matthews, who is a University of South Florida - St. Petersburg alumna. She now serves as the artistic director and has lead the festival through substantial changes for this year’s performances, including the new venue at Williams Park.
Admission to the festival’s Shakespeare performances is “pay what you can”; however, there is a suggested donation of $10 for the event. Event-goers should bring a blanket and beach or camping chairs.
