JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL: Names New Chief Financial Officer

After an extensive national search for a vice president, chief financial officer, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital named Chris Whitby to the role.

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital issued the following announcement on Feb. 2.

After an extensive national search for a vice president, chief financial officer, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital named Chris Whitby to the role. Whitby joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s in 2016 as senior director of finance and also served as interim CFO since fall 2017.

“Chris has already made great contributions as a new leader, guiding and providing oversight for our 10 year financial plan,” said Jonathan Ellen, M.D., president and vice dean at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. “In his new role, he will continue to guide our financial planning, as well as have oversight responsibility for the revenue cycle, financial reporting, managed care contracting, decision support, reimbursement, treasury and taxation.”

Whitby has more than a decade of financial experience, serving in roles at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. He has also worked in pharmaceutical research as a laboratory technician for Prevalere Life Sciences in Whitesboro, New York. Whitby completed his B.S. in accountancy at University of Maryland.
