ST. PETERSBURG AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: St. Petersburg Recreational Water Quality Results Updated

The weekly Recreational Water sampling and testing has been completed by the City of St. Petersburg's Water Resources Environmental Compliance Division on the near-shore waters along Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on March 29.

The weekly Recreational Water sampling and testing has been completed by the City of St. Petersburg's Water Resources Environmental Compliance Division on the near-shore waters along Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

Listed below are the results and Water Quality Category according to the Healthy Beaches Program for the Beaches and Lassing Park from the March 29 sampling event.

Lassing Park 4 B Good

Maximo Beach 4 U Good

North Shore Beach 56 B Moderate

Treasure Island Beach 4 B Good

Last week's re-testing of recreational waters at Lassing Park, Maximo, and North Shore Beaches following poor initial samplings resulted in good levels at Lassing Park and Maximo Beach and moderate at North Shore Beach. If needed, waters are re-tested until results are in the acceptable range.

All of these samples are taken and testing is being done in accordance with the water testing protocols outlined in the city's Water Quality Report Card. Watch for important updates as well as continued outreach and education on at www.stpete.org/water/waterquality.php.
