About 22.8 percent of the 5,166 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Miami in 2016-17 were to students in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Gables conferred 550 bachelor's degrees and 466 master's degrees in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in Law. Data shows the school gave out 261 doctor's degrees in Law, followed by 232 master's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General and 196 doctor's degrees in Medicine.

The university enrolled 16,744 students for 2016-17, including 10,792 in undergraduate programs and 5,952 in graduate programs.
