Graduates earn 146 degrees, certificates from Universal Career School


About 50.7 percent of the 146 degrees and certificates handed out by Universal Career School in 2017-18 were to students in personal and culinary services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Sweetwater conferred 74 certificates in personal and culinary services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 67 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 29 certificates in general cosmetology/cosmetologist and 20 certificates in aesthetician/esthetician and skin care specialist.

The school enrolled 231 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
