Census Bureau: More women than men in Melbourne in 2017


Of the 79,640 people living in Melbourne in 2017, 51.3 percent (40,835) were women and 48.7 percent (38,805) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Florida Business Daily.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 24,237-to-24,206. In the 65 years and over age range, there were 10,219 females and 7,556 males.
