Arizona Breathe Free Sinus and Allergy Clinic made the following announcement recently:

Every patient has experienced the ritual. You go to a doctor’s office and need a test, but they don’t have the necessary equipment on site.

So they refer you to a hospital or imaging center at a different location. More appointments, more parking lots, more delays.

Arizona Breathe Free Sinus and Allergy Clinic doesn’t do that.

We can do tests like CT scans at our clinic on your first visit. It takes only 20 seconds with on-the-spot results.

“CT scans allow us to identify structural issues that may correlate with symptoms,” Diana Ruiloba, an Arizona Breathe Free physician assistant specializing in ear, nose and throat, said. “It allows us to identify evidence of chronic sinusitis.”

A CT scan during the first visit makes it possible for patients to avoid scheduling multiple visits trying to find answers, Diana said.

“Having a CT scan during the first visit allows for a medical plan to be set in place without waiting for imaging results to verify the diagnoses,” she said. “We are able to review the full CT scan with patients during their initial visit, essentially creating a concierge concept in medical care.”

Many patients think that their sinus problems are caused by a lingering cold when they may actually have a condition called chronic sinusitis, which is inflammation of the sinus cavities.

Simple movements such as standing up, sitting down, or bending can be painful, preventing patients from living a normal life.

One treatment offered by Arizona Breathe Free that provides permanent relief is balloon sinuplasty. The procedure uses a tiny sinus balloon, which is deflated and then removed, allowing proper airflow to return to your sinuses.

For those who aren’t sure they should go to the doctor, or who want to have a bit more information about potential diagnoses before they go, Arizona Breathe Free Sinus and Allergy Centers does have an online assessment for sinusitis.
