(Sponsored Content) -- For those looking for a new gig or extra income, Uber is the perfect fit to make extra income while you run your own business or just save money for your future.

Dwayne Bell from Chicago says working for Uber accommodates his schedule as he pursues his education.

"I went back to school to get my master's degree,” Bell said. "I was with a health care facility as their director of food service, and they had a change in senior management, so they let all of us go. So I went back to get a masters. So I was able to, you know, work and go to school."

A recent Hamilton Project report said that "Gig work was especially valued by workers seeking income during an extended job search. Work advantageous."

The report comes on the heels of a Freelance Union and Upwork survey in 2019 that estimated that by 2027 half the U.S. workforce would be made up of gig workers.

According to a Pew Research Center survey, people using ride-sharing apps like Uber more than doubled from 2015 to 2018. Side work in the U.S. accounted for over $1.4 trillion in income for workers by the end of 2018, according to PYMNTS.
